For some time now I have been extremely passionate about my advocacy for the mental health of our youth. Suicide is the second leading cause of death amongst people ages 10-24 and that number has been increasing since 2007. Suicide is also the second leading cause of death in college students ages 12-18.
I have been working in the social services field for over 4 years now and for so long I have been questioning how I can make a positive impact regarding the emotional and mental development of our youth, and it finally came to me! Aside from continuing my blog to raise awareness, starting September 16th, 2021 I will be partnering with South Jersey Coping Clinic to provide free therapeutic services for 6 children on April 3rd, 2022.
The I see you project is a fundraising campaign created by Mecca Imani. The I See You project will help 6 children receive free therapeutic services from south Jersey coping clinic in Marlton, NJ. Our project campaign will run from 9/16 - 4/3 in efforts to raise $10,000 for 6 children to receive 8-12 weeks of massage therapy, talk therapy, reiki, group and/or family therapy services!
